Modern times: the Vikings are coming! The world is in the grip of a sperm donor revolution - and Denmark is at the centre, supplying sperm to 70 countries worldwide. Directed by award-wining filmmaker Sue Bourne, this film tells the remarkable stories of four British women who have chosen to use Viking sperm. The biggest demand – fuelled by the fact that Danish donors can remain anonymous – comes from single women in their 30s and 40s, and from same-sex couples. The options for insemination are plentiful – they can fly themselves out to a clinic in Denmark or they can simply log onto the Danish donor websites from home, scroll through pictures to choose their donor, buy the desired sperm and have it shipped in frozen canisters to their local clinic - or even to their kitchen table.
